PUTTING THE IPHONE 11 PRO MAX CAMERA VS NIKON D3300 DSLR

Comparing the Iphone 11 Pro Max camera against the Nikon D3300 DSLR while in Covid-19 Corona virus lockdown here in Finland.

The newish Iphone 11 Pro Max has decent cameras with multiple lenses, which are a 13 mm, a 26 mm and a 52 mm lens.
So I lined it up against my Nikon D3300 DSLR camera with the Nikon 18-55 mm with f/3,5-5,6 VR lens.

First shooting some pics with the iphone and the Nikon of my ride, a BMW 645 with TSW Bathurst wheels.
Second part to edit the photographs. Decided to not only test the shooting capabilites of the iphone compared to a DSLR camera, but also the editing capabilites. And that said I edited the photo taken with the iphone on the iphone and the photo taken on with the Nikon on my Macbook Pro with an external 28″ Samsung display.

The Iphone 11 Pro Max all alone going against the Nikon D3300 DSLR teamed up with a MacBook Pro with a Samsung 28″ display.

Still to get a really good comparison I need to shoot some portrait photographs that I do most as a photographer, you can check my photo’s out at www.jari.photography. But for that I have to wait for the Covid-19 Corona virus lockdown here in Finland to end.

The Iphone camera is impressive, specially when you think of it as primary a phone, not a camera. 2 differences that I notice is that the iphone photographs have a lot of color as default and they lack the smoothness of a “real” camera. But still if you take the photographs with the iphone and edit them in photoshop, lightroom or similiar you get further with your photograps than you could imagine.

Also as soon as the Covid-19 lockdown eases I will do a video to compare the Iphone videoshooting capabilities against a GoPro. As the Iphone is packed with video stuff like 4K 60 frames per second video and  slow motion selfie video mode at 120 frames per second.

Final verdict of the Iphone 11 Pro Max cameras, I’m impressed by all of it’s capabilities and the editing capabilities on the iphone itself. Also added a portrait of myself taken with the selfie camera of the Iphone and also edited on the Iphone.

All that said, here are the photographs and the selfie.
